Our team leaders, Brian and Renae sent this out to the team on Wednesday (June 2):
Yesterday (Tuesday) marked the beginning of our 1 month countdown before we’re off to Ukraine. Wow! Exciting and scary all at the same time. Today (Wednesday) was our day to fast and pray together and I was reminded again of God’s goodness in providing every need for this mission in every way; finances, wisdom, refreshing, traveling mercies, strength, peace. Last week I was so encouraged by the chapter “Blessed are those that Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness” (chapter 4 Compelled by Love) which although focused a great deal on hunger, reminded me also of the righteousness that is ours through Christ. I continue to ask the Lord to make us hungry so that we can be filled with His righteousness. How amazing that the only requirement for walking in His righteousness is to be hungry. Lord we are hungry (having an eager desire; craving desire) for your righteousness (act or conduct of one who is righteous). This week we read “Blessed are the Merciful” – One of the long term results of what Cristo Vive does and what we get to be part of in Ukraine this year is to create an atmosphere of mercy. When we sow the spirit of mercy into a region it can cause a shift in a society’s response to people with disabilities, the orphaned, and the poor. Pray that for the city of Krivoy Rog.
